Sportsnet Radio THE FAN 590 Live Chat
MLB Jays @ Pirates March 6th
Miked Up LIVE!
- does Patterson have any chance to make this team?
- Mike, does it look to you that Snider has changed up his batting stance a fair bit? Maybe my memory is just bad, but it seems like he's standing more upright with his feet less spread out.
- I am not 100% sure if Snider has changed his stance but with a textbook swing like that, I doubt it.
- @BringVottoHome It's definitely not uncommon for players to make slight adjustments like that during the swing and over the course of a year
- Do you see there being a little more emphasis on the running game this year? Seems this team could have a chance at stealing alot of bases
- Maybe, but I see a lot of the emphasis on the bullpen right now...
- Cal Ripken had a new stance almost every season it seemed
- Mike, great to hear familiar voices on the radio......gets me super excited for baseball. Just thought I'd give you some props on how you put Lawrie's spring into context for the average fan. It's great to be excited about his success but I agree he needs some time at AAA. Just hopefully not as much as previously anticipated.
- @Matt Luker Yeah of course, was just wondering if I was seeing things haha.
- Hey everybody, I was in another Jays@Pirates chat wondering where everyone was! Sorry about that.
- I remember reading that rogers was going to be presenting a more integrated Jays product between TV and Radio. Does anyone know what that is going to look like or involve. I'm down in Texas, so I don't hear much about these sorts of things.
- Yeah, good job Wilner.
- Be nice, Kayla
- That double by Bautista just jumped right off the bat - brought back memories of 2010.
- Wilner, if Travis has a strong spring, and hot april, is there a legitimate chance that we could see a batting order with Lind-3, Bautista-4 Snider-5? (Maybe hill-6) Or possibly even Snider 3, Lind 5
- Snider won't hit third. But I could see a Bautista-Lind-Hill-Snider 3-6
- @michael.wilner couldn't it be good for his development/confidence, if he had some really strong protection behind him....forcing pitchers to throw something in the zone?
- mostly because if I am a pitcher, I would probably take my chances with EE (even given his slugging power).
- The theory of line-up protection has been disproven many times by greater minds than mine.
- Wow, what a play by Escobar. That was a beauty.
- Nice play by Encarnacion on the short-hop chopper at first. He'll do well there, not having to worry about the throws.
- Jose Bautista has a great throwing arm from third. Night and day from Encarnacion.
- Bautista's three hits today have raised his spring average from .182 to .357.
- Bautista is 3 for 3 with an RBI and scored twice. Not a bad day at the office.
- @michael.wilner I guess we should keep this guy around now!
- You had wanted to trade him before?
- @michael.wilner I was joking
- I feel like the jays will have trouble scoring runs this yr. They have too many average hitters with low obps like Hill, Rivera, Davis etc
- Thanks for joining in on the LIVE blog! Jays sink Pirates 5-0.
