No one, aside from, perhaps, Gustavsson, and that won't happen
Awaiting comments/questions on Leafs at quarter pole. What's on your mind, Leaf fans?
Lefas won't get Richards in a trade. It'll have to be in free agency next summer and I believe Dallas will find a way to keep him, following the trend of teams holding onto their top pending FA's. If he's on the market, he'll probably seek a Kovalchuk-type deal. There will be tons of competition for his services. But, again, I fully believe the Stars will move heaven and earth to keep Richards.
Small and wildly inconsistent. That's why he's bounced around the league after good junior career.
The bottom of the Eastern playoff bracket is wide open, but it usually is at the quarter-pole of the season. At the moment, Leafs are on pace for something like 78 points,10 fewer than the 8th-place team a year ago. They'll have to pick up the pace and absolutely cannot withstand another three-week period without a victory.
Wouldn't bet on it. Teams hang onto top-rounders, for the most part.
Not sure Leafs could get a whole lot for Beauchemin, with his average play and hefty stipend. Perhaps a contending team would take him at the deadline, but Leafs wouldn't get more than a second-rounder for him.
No, where have we heard THAT before?
He is steady lots of the time. But, Luke Schenn has been the Leafs' top blueliner in the first 20 games.
These chats move a lot quicker -- and with much more bile -- when Leafs are on a losing streak. LOL.
11th ot 12th in East.
Holding onto remaining picks; hoping Kadri, Bozak, Gustavsson, Aulie, etc. mature, and spending what he can in the summer. Trading to improve team is not commin in post-lockout NHL.
Don't believe Burke is targeting nationality. He's got his people looking at the U.S. college system, as usual, but lots of Canadian-born players are down there.
You, or Burke?
With Phaneuf out, defensemen minutes are more situational. Schenn is playing big minutes some nights... almost 25 vs. Devils last Thursday.
Kidnapping them is all I can think of.
I assume you're still talking about last season?
Don't know, he hasn't told me why. If, in fact, it's true.
As I said, Burke will not bring a player here because he was born in USA. Free agent college kids will look for opportunity and money, as usual.
Ron who?
"Hey, folks, the 2011-12 season is around the corner, and we have our first-rounder." How's that?
Hates me? Ronnie and I were No. 4 on TSN's top-10 coaching-media spats, ahead of even Burke and Tortorella. I keep making him more famous every day.
The time to answer this is much closer TO the deadline.
